Ouch

First, something model horse-y and pretty...

I bought these two from Maggie Bennett at Breyerfest this year. There were my annual "I'm buying something for ME" treat. I find myself really drawn to paint them at the moment even though I have no shows coming up. Most of my live showing schedule went out the window for the foreseeable future with grad school. While I won't be driving to paint and sell whatever the hot new resin is this fall, it does give me time to refocus on what makes me happy. And that means little pewter ponies.

And then there's the new injury (pics after the jump.)

Let's just say my horse isn't a fan of the Wonder Bit. I'm currently writing some stuff for the Princess Poneh Diaries, where I'll yap some about what I did wrong and why I will likely make the same mistake again.

oh geeeze! ouch! ya know it looks just like my upper thigh did after I got kicked with both back feet hard! from a morgan mare I had years ago.. I got between her and another horse at feeding time and I knew better but it was really early and I wasn't awake all the way. ( sure the hell was after she kicked me even if I couldn't move for about 5 minutes and had to have help into the house) stupid move.. she kicked at any horse that got behind her at feeding! .. man it hurt.. and got pretty darn swollen and I was on the couch for 2 weeks.. it turned all these colors too.. I still have a hole in my muscle there...( I was young and stupid and for some reason I cant remember I never even went to the hospital! I think I probably cracked my thigh bone and my doc said the muscle is damaged and if I had gone to a doctor they would have been able to fix that ..duh hell I was like 24 or so at the time.) glad your ok! be careful!!! Ill go read that blog now ...
